Gyeongsnam Province held the "2020 Gyeongnam Star Enterprise Designation Ceremony" at Gyeongnam Techno Park on the 3rd, attended by provincial governor Kim Kyung-soo, Lee Young-seok, head of the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Ahn Wan-ki, head of Gyeongnam Techno Park, and representatives of star companies.
Fifteen companies were selected this year, including Buma CE.
Each of the 15 companies designated as star companies showed high growth in export growth, sales growth and job creation performance.
The Star Enterprise Promotion Project is a project to systematically support outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises in the region and foster them as global small and medium-sized enterprises. The province plans to designate 15 companies in 2018 and 16 companies in 2019, and designate and nurture a total of 75 Gyeongnam star companies by 2022.
Governor Kim said at the ceremony, "Although the corporate management environment, including export volume, is becoming increasingly difficult due to the lack of recovery of COVID-19 around the world, I think opportunities are always waiting after the crisis. Whether to fall into a crisis or take a chance to withstand the crisis will be the standard for determining successful companies," he said. "Gyeongnam Province will spare no support to help our selected Gyeongnam star companies prepare for such a crisis as an opportunity and survive it."
